Trend research for Siemens Mobile Phones for a new market segment in East Asia. During a 10-day stay in Tokyo, I observed the lifestyle of Japanese youth and the products and features they used from the perspective of a European product designer. The analysis of these observations formed the basis of a concept and roadmap for the new product line “Grafik-Line”, introduced in 2002.
